Hogarths Stone Manor Wedding Day Photography: Becky and Aaron
Then there are other ways people discover us, that you can't always predict. Aaron and I were both suppliers for a wedding back in 2015. I was photographing the wedding, and he was skilfully performing music, entertaining guests with his guitar. Aaron completed his set as guests headed for their reception meal, at the same time I was taking the opportunity for a short break and to have something to eat myself. As he packed his equipment away we chatted for a while. He told me about his partner Becky and his daughter Tilly. It's always good to network with other wedding suppliers so we exchanged details and bid each other farewell. A year later Becky got in touch: Aaron had passed her my details, and she went on to explain that they were looking for a photographer for their own upcoming wedding. A booking ensued, which led to their pre-wedding shoot, and eventually to their wedding day itself at Hogarths Stone Manor in Kidderminster.
Becky had been picturing her wedding day for a long time, and she had her heart set on an outdoor wedding. The great British weather decided on rain for most of their wedding day, but armed with umbrellas, considerate bridesmaids and groomsmen, as well as two very understanding registrars, she managed to realise her wish of an outdoor ceremony. We were even lucky enough to get a short break in the wet weather to run outside during their dessert, and managed to capture a few photos outside with just the two of them. I felt guilty interrupting their dessert, especially considering how important I personally think dessert is. It was completely worth it though, and I'm pleased I suggested it to them.
"Phil was absolutely amazing from start to finish. He blended in with the surroundings so well and worked really professionally and discretely! We didn't even notice he was there! We had so many compliments about how much of a top bloke phil was and how people didn't even notice him taking photos! Thank you phil for capturing our day so perfectly. You're amazing!"
After watching their highlights slideshow scroll down through the photos for a few words from Becky, about their wedding day and how she and Aaron met.
“Our journey began back at school, where, even though he was in the year above me, we knew each other through mutual friends! But, of course, you leave school, grow up a bit, paths lead seperate ways and life goes on.... Aaron is a very keen musician! And our paths crossed again when my parents asked Aaron's band to play at their wedding anniversary party back in 2011! "You'll end up with Aaron Booton" my mum used to say! After many ignored text messages and cold shoulders ;), I gave in and we met for a "friendly" drink... the rest was history!!
In 2014 we welcomed our beautiful daughter, Tilly into the world! The best day of our lives! We moved into our home and we enjoyed our family lifestyle together as a three! In 2016, Aaron chose to make me his wife whilst proposing to me on holiday in Fuerteventura! Obviously, I said yes!!! Which brings me to our wedding day!! Again, along with having our daughter, one of the best days of our lives!! He makes me laugh on a daily basis!, we are a really strong couple! We were made for each other!!”
“We knew Hogarths Stone Manor was the perfect venue for us. It's modern yet classic approach was so welcoming. It was a dream come true!”
“We’ve always dreamed of having tails as part of our wedding suits. We felt they made the men look absolutely outstanding. I felt like a queen in my dress and I had so many compliments from our wedding guests! We felt the pink and grey themed tied in so so well.”
“We loved the idea of the ushers walking our bridesmaids down the aisle, to have my father walk me down the aisle was a very special moment for me. We made sure we really took the vows in and listened to everything the registrars were saying because we're only going to do this once! I'm sure of that!”
“We couldn't possibly choose a favourite moment!! We loved every single second of our wedding day! From the bridal preps, to my father walking me down, to marrying my Prince Charming, to the hilarious speeches and first dance to the evening celebrations which we celebrated VERY hard!”
“We chose The Shires - ‘I just want to love you’ for our first dance. It's such a beautiful song and really summed up how Aaron and I feel about one another! It was a perfect slow dance song!”
“Advice to other couples; take it all in! Take a step back and embrace the presence of your husband/wife and loved ones! Really listen in the ceremony to every word that is being read in your vows, video and photograph the moments as it goes so quickly and emotions are so high you forget what's happened! It's so lovely to be able to look back and relive the day! relax and enjoy every second.”
“BIG SHOUT OUT TO: maid of honour- Charlotte, bridesmaids- Naomi, Tara and Lauren. Ushers - Charlie, Louie, Gavin, George. Mother of bride- Sue. Mother of groom - Lindsay. Father of bride - Gary. Father of groom - Dave. We couldn't have done it without you wonderful people!”
