Engagement Shoots

Pre-wedding/engagement shoots are currently included completely free within our wedding packages, but are also available as a stand alone photography shoot too.

We also offer the option for couples to book an engagement shoot, before booking my wedding package. As this gives us a chance to get to know each other and for you to see how I work with you on a shoot. After the engagement shoot, you then have an option to book our services for your wedding day, at which point we'll take the cost of the engagement shoot as a deposit, and deduct it from my wedding package cost.

Phil takes charge on engagement shoots, so he's be meeting up with you for your shoot. The shoot gives you that all important opportunity to practise in front of the camera, by the end of a session you’re more likely to be relaxed and know what to expect for your big day. They also give us a good idea of how you both react and feel being in front of the camera, and we get a feeling for you both as a couple and how you interact together. All this helps us ensure I capture you both in a genuine way, and that your unique personalities and special connection with each other come across in your photos.

Engagement shoots also mean that you have some great photos which can be used for ‘save the date’ cards and wedding invitations.

These sessions are also a great idea to do as an anniversary photo shoot. If you have a special anniversary coming up, or even just want some photos of yourself and your partner to add the the family albums, a couples’ shoot works really well.

If you’d like to book an engagement shoot with Phil on it’s own, they cost £195 for a 2-3 hour session.

How do we book a engagement shoot?
Get in touch via our contact form to enquire about Phil's availability.

Send us your full name, address, a contact phone number, we'll then send you an electronic booking quotation document to sign with the details of your booking and how to pay the session fee. Session fees are paid in full at time of booking.

Unfortunately we're unable to hold any session dates until I have received your session fee.
Do you cover my area?
We are based in Wolverhampton in the Midlands, and for engagement/ couples portrait shoots cover an area within an approximate 25 mile radius of WV1, which is the majority of the Midlands.
How do we receive our photos?
Your photos will also be uploaded to a private online gallery for you to view, share and download.

A selection of photo gifts and prints are also available direct from your online gallery.

You gallery will also let family and friends download images free of charge.
How long does it take before we receive our photos?
For a engagement session it usually takes around 3-4 weeks before Phil is able to send you all your finished photos.

The time needed often depends on when we book your session. The summer is our busiest period, so Phil's editing schedule tends to be on the heavier side. It means sessions sometimes take slightly longer during that time of year.

We always endeavour to send a sneak peek not too long after the session itself, just as a small preview of whats to come.
How many photos can we expect to receive?
On average you should receive around 30-60 photos from your session. There’s no additional costs or charges to receive your photos, we don't hold clients to ransom by showing you additional photos from your shoot, and then expect you to pay more to receive them all.

Just one session fee for as many great moments captured as possible, all digitally delivered.
Do I need to order our photo products at the time of booking?
We don't like 'hard sales' so we'll leave it up to you if you'd like to take advantage of the photo products I offer. You can order prints, photo products and photo books directly via your online gallery. All products we offer can be ordered at any point before your online gallery expires. Take a look at our photo products page.
What is your 'license of use' and do we own the copyright?
Every shoot comes with an implicit 'licence of use' that lets you print your images, give copies to family and friends, and share online; all for non-profit purposes.

If any of your wedding suppliers get in touch requesting the use of some of your photos for self promotion, send them our way and we're always happy to help them out.

Philip Dignum Photography retains the copyright to all photo, that simply means that your licence does not include permission to sell, modify or enter the photos into any competitions.
